Frequently Asked Questions

Why does TunerKit need microphone permission?

The real-time tuner works by analyzing the pitch of your guitar strings through the microphone. Without this permission, the tuner cannot detect sound. Your audio is processed entirely on-device — it is never recorded or uploaded anywhere.

The chord diagrams are not displaying correctly. What should I do?

Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the issue persists, uninstalling and reinstalling TunerKit usually resolves display problems. If you continue to experience issues, please contact us at contact@leekyusung.kr with your device model and OS version.

Which instruments does TunerKit support?

The tuner supports any chromatic pitch — guitar (6-string standard and custom tunings), ukulele, bass, and other stringed instruments. The chord dictionary currently includes diagrams for guitar and ukulele.

Can I use TunerKit offline?

Yes. The tuner and chord dictionary work fully offline after the app is installed. An internet connection is only needed to load banner advertisements.

Does TunerKit support custom tunings?

Yes. In addition to standard EADGBE tuning, TunerKit supports custom tunings such as Drop D, Open G, Open D, DADGAD, and more. You can select or configure tunings within the app.

How do I save a chord to Favorites?

Open any chord in the chord dictionary and tap the star icon to add it to your Favorites. Favorited chords appear in a dedicated section for quick access during practice or performance.

Is TunerKit really free? Are there any hidden costs?

TunerKit is completely free. All features — tuner, chord dictionary, and favorites — are available at no cost. The only monetization is a small banner ad displayed at the bottom of the screen. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no in-app purchases.
